I noticed that within those 3 months I had lost all of my emotions. I felt extremely numb as if I was put under anesthesia or something. I began to feel like a robot. I just felt nothing, a whole lot of nothing. I also had horrible insomnia, no appetite, and derealization.
Cause
citalopram/Celexa 20mg at age 12 for ~5 months then taper (doctor/mom insisted on slow stop after horrible withdrawal). PSSD diagnosed later; no one believed her.
Duration
numbness/emotion-loss built over ~3 months off; lasted over 2 years with no improvement; slow improvements in year 3; writing at age 19
Recovery notes
Year 3 began slow improvements after >2 years of feeling like a robot. Suicide attempt at 14 because of PSSD. ADJACENT: total emotion loss, robot, body-wide numbness, DR, insomnia are clear; no blank-mind or lost-inner-monologue claim.
