While on the medication, I experienced a complete emotional shutdown, numbness, and overnight sexual dysfunction. Since then, my condition has deteriorated, including worsening cognitive impairment, anhedonia... I now feel utterly disconnected from everything. It is a constant struggle to connect with people, focus, comprehend, and communicate effectively.
Cause
rapid switches (Effexor, Pristiq, Lexapro, Wellbutrin) then Cymbalta ~6 days Dec 1–6 2021; crash on Cymbalta
Duration
from Dec 2021 through writing (years); some aspects normalized after stop, never fully recovered old self
Recovery notes
On-drug: complete emotional shutdown, numbness, overnight sexual dysfunction. Off-drug: still anhedonic, genitally numb, depersonalized, cognitive impairment. Also has 'negative and obsessive thought patterns' — so not empty inner speech. Adjacent.
