“its been a week since i quit olanzapine but my thoughts my imagination cognition emotions and intelligence have not come back… The numbing of emotions thoughtlessness i have no imagination my mind is totally ridiculously blank it is definetly the medicine i have noticed it the day i started olanzapine but i am not unmedicated or psychotic… i do feel "unhuman"”

Cause

olanzapine/Zyprexa 10 mg (on-drug onset day 1; later CT after Latuda cross-taper). OP noticed blank mind + emotion numbing on starting olanzapine; quit after doctor switched to Latuda (kept olanzapine ~3 more weeks 'for protection' then stopped without taper).

Duration

On olanzapine through at least prior summer (10 kg gain noted); ~1 week off olanzapine at Apr 12–13 2024 posts while already on Latuda; residual blank+numb still present at 1 week off. No later OP recovery update found in archived thread pages.

Recovery notes

At ~1 week off olanzapine still reports blank mind / no imagination / thoughtlessness + numbing of emotions (attributes to olanzapine, not psychosis). Claims Latuda itself has 'no side effects' like a headache pill. Peers advised waiting 1–2 months / receptor clearance. No confirmed return of thoughts/emotions found.
