for over 2 years now I have been stuck in what feels like extreme disassociation. I feel completely detatched from my emotions and personality. My mind is just blank without an internal monologue and an inability to form mental images. emotionally numb and even physically numb to an extent. ... In this state I just float through life without really being able to connect with anything. ... I cant experience emotions or mentally plan for the future.
Cause
Reddit r/covidlonghaulers first-person OP u/AAA_battery: long COVID / extreme dissociation. Attributes blank mind without internal monologue + inability to form mental images + emotionally numb (detached from emotions and personality) to long COVID lasting >2 years. Same author earlier posted 1b2al7t (28 Feb 2024: title lists no internal monologue + emotional numbness/anhedonia + blank empty mind; body: brain fried / personality deleted) — treated as same person, not separately logged. Unused long-COVID BOTH; distinct from weax79 and smoothwait1820. Live Reddit 403; quote from search-index OP excerpts.
Duration
>2 years stuck in blank+numb dissociation at 30 May 2024 posting; earlier Feb 2024 post already described same cluster
Recovery notes
No recovery claimed. Asking how to deal; life wasting away; cannot experience emotions or mentally plan for future. Thread replies suggested antihistamines/hydroxyzine or functional-medicine approaches for others (not this OP). No later OP recovery update verified this pass.
